At the invitation of the Lviv Regional Development Agency, our cluster is among the Ukrainian stakeholders of the international project SKYLA – Smart Specialisation Skills Ecosystems for the Twin Transition, aimed at creating regional skill ecosystems for sustainable and digital development.
On September 30–October 1, a SKYLA partnership meeting was held in Białystok (Poland), bringing together representatives from Italy, Spain, Sweden, Greece, Ireland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine.
They discussed how to develop vocational education, improve staff qualifications, and ensure that the labor market meets the needs of the “green” and “digital” transition.
The meeting program included:
🔸study visits to university laboratories and innovation centers in Białystok;
🔸familiarization with models of cooperation between business, education, and government;
workshops on adapting educational programs to the challenges of the Twin Transition;
🔸discussion of the role of clusters and enterprises in the development of regional skills.
For our Lviv furniture cluster, participation in SKYLA is an opportunity to: integrate the experience of European partners into the development of the furniture and woodworking industry in the Lviv region;
join in shaping new approaches to vocational education and retraining for manufacturing enterprises; strengthen partnerships between business, educational institutions, and regional institutions; promote Ukrainian industries in the European context of green transformation.
