Lviv Furniture Cluster Participated in a Meeting with the Slovak Delegation

Representatives of the Lviv Furniture Cluster joined a meeting with a Slovak delegation led by Ivan Korčok. The main focus of the discussion was Lviv’s experience in developing local industrial, technological, and cluster ecosystems, as well as the prospects for further cooperation between Ukrainian and Slovak partners.

Cluster Model as a Tool for Regional Development

During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of the cluster model for the economic development of regions.

“This approach not only helps unite companies within the same industry, but also creates sustainable connections between businesses, local governments, educational institutions, technology companies, industry associations, and international partners. For us, the cluster approach is a practical mechanism for developing the manufacturing environment, strengthening companies’ competitiveness, and creating conditions for implementing joint projects,” said Oksana Straz, Head of the Lviv Furniture Cluster.

International Cooperation as a Practical Tool for Business

Special attention was given to the role of international cooperation for Ukrainian manufacturing companies. In today’s conditions, such cooperation should be practical and create real opportunities for business development.

This includes:

  • searching for international partners;
  • entering new markets;
  • participation in joint intercluster and cross-industry projects;
  • exchange of managerial and technological expertise;
  • access to European support and funding programs.

We believe that long-term partnerships between companies are what form the foundation of sustainable economic cooperation between regions and countries.

Cooperation with Slovakia and the Development of Cluster Ecosystems

One of the key priorities for the cluster remains the development of cooperation with Slovakia at the intercluster, cross-industry, interbusiness, and interregional levels. This format of collaboration creates opportunities for joint initiatives, experience exchange, and the development of manufacturing ecosystems.

During the meeting, participants also discussed the possibility of replicating cluster development models in the Košice Region. Lviv’s experience may be valuable in building effective cooperation between business associations, local authorities, innovation ecosystems, and European funding programs.

We thank the Slovak delegation for the meaningful professional dialogue, their interest in Lviv’s experience, and their openness to further cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia.
