From Furniture Manufacturing to Product Design: MEBUS, Meblens and Tivoli at DESIGN EXPO, Lviv Design Day 2026
On September 26–27, the fifth Lviv Design Day will take place at LEM Station — a professional event bringing together architects, designers, manufacturers, and creative industry professionals. This year’s theme is Rethinking Tomorrow.
A key part of the event will be DESIGN EXPO — an exhibition space showcasing Ukrainian furniture and product design brands, material manufacturers, lighting and decor companies, and other interior solutions. It is a place not only to discuss design, but also to see products, materials, and manufacturing solutions in person.
Among the DESIGN EXPO exhibitors are members of the Lviv Furniture Cluster: MEBUS, Meblens, and Tivoli. Each company has its own history, production model, and vision of what contemporary Ukrainian furniture can be.
MEBUS: Four Generations of Craftsmanship and In-House Furniture Collections
The story of MEBUS began with a craft that has been passed down through four generations. Today, the company is a furniture manufacturer based in Busk, combining natural wood craftsmanship, modern production equipment, and in-house furniture design.
MEBUS produces both case goods and upholstered furniture for bedrooms, living rooms, home offices, hallways, and dining areas.
What makes MEBUS distinctive is its combination of traditional woodworking and a contemporary furniture product. The company develops its collections in-house, with individual collections comprising up to around 50 pieces. Materials include natural solid oak and beech, as well as natural oak veneer. Upholstered furniture is available in more than 500 fabric options.
The company also offers customisation, including changes to colours, configurations, and furniture sets. Another area of expertise is walk-in and built-in wardrobe systems made from solid oak, beech, and natural oak veneer, using BLUM fittings and Italian-made finishes.

Meblens: Furniture as a Complete Spatial Solution
Meblens has been operating in the market for more than 17 years and specialises in custom-made furniture for residential and commercial spaces. The company has its own production facility in Lviv, three showrooms in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, and more than 1,620 completed design projects.
Rather than focusing solely on individual furniture collections, Meblens builds its offering around a full-cycle approach to interior spaces.
Clients can come with an existing design project or develop one together with the Meblens team. The company then handles engineering and structural development, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and after-sales service.
Its portfolio includes kitchens, bedrooms, dressing rooms, living rooms, children's rooms, bathrooms, hallways, office furniture, and solutions for commercial spaces.
The company's value lies not simply in the ability to manufacture furniture to custom dimensions. Meblens positions itself as a partner responsible for the project from the initial concept through long-term use. In-house engineering expertise, production, and installation teams allow the company to control the project at different stages.

Tivoli: More Than Half a Century of Working with Wood
Tivoli represents another side of furniture manufacturing — products where the focus is not on furnishing an entire space, but on individual pieces with a distinctive design identity.
The company's history dates back to 1968, and it specialises in manufacturing wooden chairs and tables. Today, more than 170 craftspeople work at the factory, combining woodworking traditions with modern technologies, including CNC equipment. The company works with beech, oak, and ash.
In recent years, Tivoli has placed an increasing focus on product design. Its Calm, Striha, and Moon collections received eight international design awards between 2023 and 2025, including the DNA Paris Design Award, European Design Award, and Muse Design Award. The Calm collection, defined by minimalism and ergonomics, was first presented at iSalone in Milan in 2023.
The Striha collection is particularly notable. It explores Ukrainian traditions through a contemporary design language — an approach that closely resonates with this year's Lviv Design Day theme, Rethinking Tomorrow: not abandoning accumulated manufacturing knowledge, but finding new forms for it.
