The European Commission has published a package of proposals for the new EU budget for 2028–2034. One of the key initiatives is the creation of the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), designed to invest in strategic technologies in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the Single Market.
For Ukrainian furniture manufacturers, the proposed EU budget for 2028–2034 represents an important signal of future opportunities, even though Ukraine is not yet a member of the European Union. Ukrainian furniture producers can integrate into European value and supply chains through joint projects, R&D partnerships, subcontracting, and participation in various programmes or initiatives together with EU partners. At this stage, the key priorities are production modernisation, energy efficiency, digitalisation of processes, and compliance with environmental standards, as these factors will determine access to future European support instruments and cooperation opportunities.
For the Lviv Furniture Cluster, this is a significant signal as well: the EU’s focus on innovation, green and digital transformation, supply chain resilience, and the development of SMEs will only intensify. We aim to ensure that the needs and potential of Ukrainian manufacturers are taken into account in international partnerships and future initiatives. Therefore, we invite companies from our community and partners to take part in a short survey.
Your responses will help us to:
– better understand business needs related to innovation and modernisation
– identify priorities for international cooperation in 2026–2027
– prepare strong joint applications and partnerships aligned with new EU instruments
