The first iteration of the UP-SKILLING Mobility Scheme under the Project reBUILD initiative will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, bringing together professionals and innovators from the European furniture and wood industries. 

Following their participation in the online preparatory B2B matchmaking event, the selected companies now continue their learning journey through this in-person mobility exchange, aimed at deepening collaboration and promoting hands-on experience with advanced digital tools, innovative materials, and sustainable technologies. 

Highlights of the Programme: 

  • - Visits to the Furniture Research Department and Laboratories of the University of Ljubljana; 
  • - Guided tours of furniture and wood-processing companies, members of the Wood Industry Cluster; 
  • - Attendance at the Interior Design and Home Renovation Fair in Ljubljana, including B2B meetings; 
  • - Expert-led reBUILD Workshop, featuring: 
  • • Innovative Interior Design – Dr. Jasna Hrovatin (Faculty of Design, Slovenia) 
  • • New Materials and Technologies in the Wood Industry – Dr. Marko Petrič (University of Ljubljana) 
  • • Digitalization and New Materials in Construction – Vladimir Gumilar (Slovenian Construction Cluster) 
  • • Competence Center for HR Development in the Wood Sector – Bernard Likar (Wood Industry Cluster Slovenia) 

- Networking sessions and showroom visits to explore Slovenia’s creative furniture industry.

The UP-SKILLING Mobility Scheme is not just an educational exchange, but a step towards creating a European furniture industry ecosystem based on cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development.
