In May 2025, Germany will once again become the global hub for the woodworking industry. Over 140,000 professionals from around the world will gather at two major trade fairs — interzum in Cologne (May 20–23) and Ligna in Hannover (May 26–30). A single ticket will grant access to both events.
Ligna 2025 marks its 50th anniversary and remains the world’s leading trade fair for woodworking machinery and technology. This year, more than 1,300 exhibitors are expected to showcase their solutions across 113,000 square meters, with visitor numbers projected to exceed 80,000. Key themes include digital communication, sustainable production, engineered wood technologies, and innovations at the intersection of digitalization and artificial intelligence.
interzum 2025 is also set to break records. Over 1,600 companies have already confirmed their participation, and visitor attendance is expected to surpass 62,000. Attendees will include furniture manufacturers, architects, interior designers, and material developers. The main theme of the exhibition is “Rethinking Resources: Circular and Bio-based Solutions,” focusing on biomaterials, circular economy principles, and sustainable practices that are reshaping the design and furniture industries.
These two events are must-attends for anyone working in wood, interiors, design, or furniture. They offer not only access to the latest innovations but also a glimpse into the future of the global industry.
